Claude François’ House / Dannemois Mill
Patrimoine > Musées/Maisons d'artistes, Tourisme accessible
Description
This property, quickly dubbed "The Mill" has become thanks to the owner ideas, a magical place, a festive rendezvous of show biz. Faithful to Dannemois village, he lived there until his death in 1978 and has since been resting at the village cemetery where his fans can mourn.
Since 1998, thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Lescure initiative, a couple of bakers from Dordogne, the "Cloclo Mill" regains all its splendor!
The owners decided to reconstitute this "Farm of Happiness" identically, as it existed at the time of Claude François. The museum's collections are regularly expanded, new renovations are taking place, a restaurant is set up and many shows are on offer. You will discover costumes, touring objects, his bedroom and bathroom kept identical, a passage through the gift shop will allow you to stock up on souvenirs.
A tea room is also at your disposal to wait for the next visit, as well as a giant screen showing the most beautiful shows of Claude François.
