As a ceramist by training, Caroline Worner began by making graphic and sculptural utility pieces. It is now moving towards more artistic creations designed in relation to nature, places, heritage, historical events and legends.
She has developed an alternative photo ceramic technique used to decorate the porcelain objects she shapes. Photographed, reworked before being printed on paper, then transferred with metallic oxides to the raw porcelain, the decor merges with the earth at 1250 degrees.
The evolution of this poetic work seeks to reveal the multiplicity of the creative potential of the earth through simple or alternative processes of shaping and decoration or in association with other materials.
