Journées Européennes du Patrimoine 2024 à la Maison Littéraire de Victor Hugo – Visit of the park
Agenda > Visites guidées, Conférences et Débats, Agenda global
Description
The Maison Littéraire de Victor Hugo is located at the Château des Roches, formerly the property of Bertin l'aîné, director of the Journal des Débats in the 19th century, where he ran a literary salon whose most illustrious guest was Victor Hugo. He created an 11-hectare English-style park on the banks of the Bièvre, planting many species that are now twice a century old: oaks, pines, plane trees, cedars, redwoods and bald cypresses. A pond and island add to its romantic charm.
Free car park. Tea room.
